Misaq Kazimi is a creative director and producer with a Masters degree and fifteen years of experience in the media space. A TV series which he wrote/directed an episode of as a student won a regional Emmy® award.

In 2007, Kazimi produced his first feature-length documentary, “16 Days in Afghanistan,” screened at several universities and museums, including the British Museum. In 2012, he distributed Mohsen Makhmalbaf’s film “The Gardener” across American theaters, leading it to an Oscar® consideration.

Kazimi curated the Dawn Breakers Int’l Film Festival, nominated by MovieMaker magazine as a top ‘Social Cause Film Festival’.

In 2015, a startup Kazimi founded received venture capital funding, placing him among the top 1% of
entrepreneurs in the US who receive venture capital.

In 2016, Kazimi was a founding member at World Is One News TV, India’s first English news channel, where he also hosted a talk show. In 2018, he created a web series in virtual reality with Facebook.

Kazimi’s recent projects include directing Steadfast, a historical film told through dance; and leading Balance Now, a think-tank aiming at increasing diversity and inclusion in leaderships of companies, government and organizations.

Kazimi was born in Kabul and raised in California.
